ALBANY -- New Covenant Charter School is down to its last chance, and Rose Nelson is worried.
She doesn't want to send her 7-year-old son, Shy' Reed Wofford, a first-grader, to an Albany district school next year. But she may not have a choice. On Tuesday, a committee of the State University of New York's board of trustees voted 3-1 to close the Albany school. That means the school's future remains uncertain until the vote is finalized or overruled by the full board of trustees on March 23.
